Stress Is Hurting You

The world places ever-increasing demands on our time, energy, and attention. It's only too easy to become harried and overwhelmed.

Unchecked, stress will not only upset us, it will impair our functioning, and either exacerbate existing health problems or create new ones.

Living A Happy, Productive, Fulfilling Life
Requires Coping With Stress Well

bare-knuckle stress boxer Pat Connelly This website is designed to help you learn to understand and recognize stress, and to learn both short and long term approaches to managing and even eliminating the stress in your life.

Some of these approaches are about immediate, temporary relief from stress.

Others are about making lasting changes in the ways you perceive and respond to potentially stressful themes and situations.

Fighting stress with a one-two punch will be the most effective way to greatly (and permanently!) reduce your overall level of stress and live a more serene and joyful life.

As this website grows, we'll go deeper, and reflect on the positive aspects of stress (yes, there are positive aspects!)

Then, we'll consider the kind of relationship we want to cultivate with stress: is it an adversary to be defeated, or a sparring partner who forces us to learn and grow? Do we want to destroy it or just keep it in check?

Finally, we'll try to approach all of this material, some of it daunting, with compassion and humor, because we don't want to get stressed out about managing stress if we can help it!
